Bedside rug
Rugs in the bedroom
Whether it's a child's room or the parents' bedroom, the floor can feel bare without a rug. A bedside rug is important because it's very often the first thing your bare feet touch when you wake up in the morning.
A bedside rug can be a vintage Berber rug, often a Beniouarain made of thick, soft wool. Smaller than a large living room rug, it's also more affordable and a way to indulge yourself, if only selfishly. After all, the bedroom is a place of privacy that you don't necessarily share with your guests.

You will choose it for the length of its wool fibers and its thickness if you want to wake up feeling like you're on a cloud.

Children often spend a lot of time on the floor; they play there, and even as teenagers, they like to be on the floor in their rooms. New or vintage Azilal rugs in a medium size are perfect for this.

Bedside rug care
In any case, there's no need to choose a huge rug for a bedroom, especially one that will be mostly under the bed. Remember that your vacuum cleaner is your rug's best friend. Dust bunnies tend to slumber under beds. Paradoxically, it's the sheltered part of your wool rug that's likely to suffer the most, as it will be difficult for your vacuum cleaner to reach. A reasonably sized bedside rug also has the advantage of being easily moved, hung by the window, or beaten to freshen it up.
Wool carpets, fire, allergies and other dust mites in the bedroom
Some people are so afraid of dust mites that they imagine them as tiny spiders that harm children's health while they sleep. While allergies to these little creatures do exist, they are rare, and wool rugs, provided they are vacuumed regularly, don't harbor them any more than your clothes in a closet. Moreover, wool is less harmful than polypropylene and other fibers derived from the petroleum industry. A wool rug is not flammable; it is even considered Class 4 in terms of fire protection. Fire does not spread on a wool rug! This is the complete opposite of a synthetic rug, which is extremely flammable and which we consider dangerous, even criminal, to put in a child's bedroom.
